I'm planning my first solo backpacking trip across Southeast Asia and trying to cut costs without sacrificing experiences. Has anyone figured out the sweet spot between using budget airlines, hostels, and local transportation? I'd love to hear what actually saves money versus what sounds good in theory. Also, are there any lesser-known destinations that are still affordable but don't feel as crowded as Bangkok or Chiang Mai?
