The Sama Bajau people, known as sea nomads, come from the Sulu Archipelago in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and other parts of Southeast Asia.

They are famous for their incredible ability to dive deep into the sea without equipment, mainly for spearfishing. Research has found that the Bajau have a unique genetic adaptation that gives them larger spleens.

This helps them hold their breath for a long time underwater, which is useful for their diving lifestyle.
