PM Narendra Modi received a grand welcome at Jeddah airport on Tuesday as he kicked off a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia—his third after 2016 and 2019—on the invitation of Crown Prince and PM Mohammed bin Salman.
As a special gesture, the Royal Saudi Air Force escorted PM Modi’s aircraft as it entered Saudi airspace.
This April 22–23 trip follows Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to New Delhi in Sept 2023 for the G20 Summit and the first India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council meeting.
Before departing, PM Modi highlighted the deep and growing strategic ties between India and Saudi Arabia.
