🇺🇸🇬🇧More than 100 US troops and 700 British paratroopers have arrived at Akrotiri Air Base in Cyprus to prepare to evacuate their citizens from Lebanon.

It is quite possible that the evacuation could take place as early as next week, for which a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah could be declared.

The evacuation will be led by about 2,000 troops from the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU), part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, which is currently deployed in the Mediterranean.
