The year’s biggest and brightest supermoon, known as the Beaver Moon, illuminated the night skies over Moscow on Wednesday.

It is the second of three consecutive supermoons, with the next expected in December.

The supermoon occurs when the full moon coincides with its closest approach to Earth, appearing larger and brighter than usual.
