Similar to OpenAI's o1 and DeepSeek's R1 models, Google has improved reasoning capabilities for Gemini app users with the introduction of its Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking Experimental model and additional AI models like Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental.
Google's reasoning model, which was introduced in December with little fanfare, is now included with Gemini as interest in reasoning-focused AI grows thanks to DeepSeek's R1. According to Google, the Gemini 2.0 Flash model is the greatest in the world.
To compete with OpenAI, Microsoft, Meta, and low-cost Chinese models, Google announced intentions to invest $75 billion in AI infrastructure during its Q4 earnings call. Additionally, to provide openness in its thought process, the organization combines 2.0 Flash Thinking with YouTube, Search, and Maps.
