ABC News' Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce asked President Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman about journalist Jamal Khashoggi's murder and the anger 9/11 families have expressed over the visit because of Saudi Arabia's alleged role.

Trump told Bruce, "You don't have to embarrass our guest, asking a question like this."

In 2021, a report from the U.S. intelligence community found, "We assess that Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman approved an operation in Istanbul, Turkey to capture or kill Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi."
