Technoligy Between Honey and Poison

Technology, one word that plays a full role in the growth of human life today. Currently, most of the world's population has enjoyed technological advances. Talking about technology cannot be separated from the internet and gadgets which are the result of technology itself.

Technology and its rapid progress really help human life, even with existing technological advances it can bring opportunities to earn income without having to leave home and family.

On the other hand, without us realizing it, the technology that exists today can turn into a threat in itself if we cannot use it properly and vice versa, technology will dominate us.

The internet and gadgets are clear evidence of this technological advancement. Currently, most of the world's population has used internet facilities, one of which is the world of education. In Indonesia, since the last 5 (five) years almost all schools and tertiary institutions, including Elementary Schools (SD) to High Schools have used internet facilities in the process of recruiting/accepting new students. Of course, this is very good progress, considering that the technology must be introduced as early as possible for positive use, as well as to prepare for entering the new era of Web 3.0 which will focus heavily on digital technology to advance our society.

Parents who previously did not understand the use of the internet accidentally motivated them to learn and try to use it.

Besides that, there is a turning point that is happening right now where most of us are abusing the use of technology, as well as what is happening to children today. Existing technology has made them more self-centered individuals, away from direct social life, some have even made technology or rather social media a substitute for family, parents and friends.

The internet or social media keeps them away from their families, and sometimes they spend more time in front of gadgets/computers.

As a result of the weak level of understanding, lack of supervision and no proper information about the pros and cons of technology are the main factors causing technology abuse in children. It would be very wise if these technological advancements and changes were put to good use and become opportunities instead of creating problems.
