THE HOLY WEEK THAT CHANGED THE WORLD.
Jesus's final confrontation with the religious leaders in Jerusalem culminated in His arrest, trial, and crucifixion. This ongoing conflict, which started with His ministry, escalated as He challenged their authority and teachings. His actions and teachings were seen as a threat to their power and status, leading them to plot His death. fulfilling the sad prophecy of His suffering and death.
The Week that Changed the World reflects on the following events, only person in Jewish history who had the authority to make drastic changes after the passover was originally instituted to have the audacity to change the liturgy(pattern of worship)of it was Jesus himself because the Passover was about Him Jesus . Instead of the chief priest taking the blood of animals into the holiest place “santo Santorum “ in the temple to sprinkle the animal blood on the mercy seat of God,Jesus instructed His disciples to eat the unleavened bread, saying, "This is my body," and to drink the wine, saying, "This is my blood". He used these elements to symbolize His body being broken and His blood being shed for their sins, marking the establishment of a new covenant.
During the Passover week,Jesus is beginning to enter in what’s called His passion,He’s aware of His impending execution. He’s aware that He is going to be betray. He’s aware that He will also be publicly denied by His inner circle friend Peter. The entire life of Jesus was a prelude to the events and teachings during this last week. By reflecting upon the events of Holy Week, we gain a greater understanding of the mission of Jesus. It is a thought-provoking, heart-wrenching week, one that leads to the most important event in history: the resurrection of Jesus, our Redeemer and King. This is the basis of Christianity, His sacrifice launched the New Covenant God promised and many had prophesied throughout the Old Testament.
