๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ The Italian Defense Minister called for a truce in Ukraine and peace negotiations with the Russian Federation, because he believes that Western sanctions have not had the expected effect, and the West itself has overestimated its influence in the world, believing that sanctions will stop Putinโ€™s invasion.

โ€œNow the only way to solve this crisis is to involve everyone, first a truce and then peace,โ€ Guido Crosetto said in an interview with Il Messaggero.

To the journalistโ€™s statement that Putin โ€œhas not yet shown any readiness for negotiations,โ€ Crosetto replied:

โ€œThis is a good reason for us to try even harder. We should not give up on any possible path of diplomacy, no matter how narrow it may beโ€

At the same time, Crosetto supported Italyโ€™s decision to continue sending weapons to Ukraine, saying that this was aimed at obtaining โ€œtime and conditions to achieve a truce and peace.โ€

The minister also said that on the eve of Ukraineโ€™s counter-offensive in the summer of 2023, he personally called on Zelensky to abandon these plans, believing that it was โ€œdoomed to failureโ€ due to the military superiority of the Russian Federation.
