Cristiano Ronaldo has made history by becoming the first celebrity to surpass 1 billion followers across all social media platforms.

The Portuguese soccer star, 39, celebrated the milestone on Thursday via Instagram and his new YouTube channel, which has rapidly gained 60 million subscribers.

Ronaldo's Instagram leads with 639 million followers, while he also has 170.5 million on Facebook and 113 million on X.

His YouTube channel, launched in August, saw 50 million subscribers in its first week.

Ronaldo remains among the highest-paid athletes, with earnings expected to exceed $2 billion by year-end.
