Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has launched the “King Salman Gate” project in Makkah — a transformative urban development near Masjid Al-Haram.

Covering around 12 million square metres, the project will include residential, commercial, cultural, and hospitality facilities, designed to accommodate nearly 900,000 worshippers.

The initiative aims to enhance access to the Grand Mosque, improve pilgrim services, and preserve Makkah’s heritage while generating over 300,000 jobs by 2036.

It is being developed by RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
