This heartbreaking image shows Chinese doctors paying tribute to an 11-year-old boy named Liang Yaoyi, who died from brain cancer in 2014.
Before his death, the young boy told his mother that he wanted to donate his organs so he could “continue living in another way” and help other children survive.
After he passed away, doctors and nurses lined the hospital hallway and bowed respectfully as his body was taken for organ donation surgery.
Liang’s donated organs and kidneys reportedly helped save or improve several lives, turning a tragic loss into hope for multiple families.
In China, where organ donation rates were historically very low due to cultural beliefs surrounding the body after death, his story deeply moved the public and inspired conversations about organ donation nationwide
